Acute Data Alignment Programme (ADAPt) consultation extended until 22 May 2020

25/03/2020
With most consultants and healthcare facilities now fully committed to delivering front-line care to patients affected by the Covid-19 virus, PHIN and NHS Digital have taken the decision to extend the consultation period on the next phase of the ADAPt programme until 22 May 2020, allowing all interested stakeholders additional time to respond.

The consultation considers changes on how data about privately funded healthcare is collected and shared across healthcare systems. Under the proposed changes PHIN will share the private Admitted Patient Care national dataset for England with NHS Digital, creating a single source of healthcare data.

These changes will support and align with the recent recommendations made in the Paterson Inquiry to create a single repository for the whole practice of consultants in private and public healthcare in England.

As this situation develops, we will continue to evaluate the situation and respond as needed.

The consultation can be found on NHS Digital’s consultation hub.
